Ardmore 5K to Benefit
Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC
WHAT:
Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just love to be outdoors on a cool fall day, this one’s for you! The popular 7th Annual Ardmore 5K and Fun Run presented by Redeemer Presbyterian Church in conjunction with Fleet Feet Sports is back; and set for Saturday, October 17. All proceeds from this year’s event will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, and all participants are also asked to bring along donations of canned goods to support their work to help feed families in need in our community.
At 2008’s Ardmore 5K:
• $9,000 and 1,200 pounds of food were raised and donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC
• Approximately 450 runners competed in the 5K
• More than 90 people of all ages enjoyed the mile-long Fun Run
• Nearly 40 local businesses and organizations sponsored the race
WHEN:
Saturday, October 17, 2009
8:30 a.m. – Fun Run/Walk – Approximately 1 mile for children and adults
9:00 a.m. – 5K Road Race – All runners, walkers and wheelchair racers interested and able to participate

Redeemer Presbyterian Church, 1046 Miller Street, Winston-Salem, NC (Starting line is located at Miller Street at Gaston)
REGISTRATION/PACKET PICK UP:
Register online at www.active.com or in-person at Whole Foods Friday, October 16th from 6-8 p.m. or on race day from 7-8 a.m.
FOOD DRIVE INFORMATION:
Food collection bins are at the following locations from now until Oct. 17. You can also donate food at the race on race day.
